Wordpress Plugins For SEO
Yes, word press by itself is already SEO-friendly & it can get you ranked high on search engines for targeted keywords. When word press was new, all you had to do was install it on your domain & you get instant SEO, or instant search engine traffic.
Then some people started to abuse word press blogs by creating spam blogs with worthless content which the whole purpose was to get Ad Sense clicks or to promote affiliate programs. The search engines wised up & dropped many of these junk blogs from their search listings. Optimizing word press for SEO is no longer as easy as before! Wait, you can still optimize it by using a few plug-ins.
SEO Title Tag plug-in
Adds the title text of your blogs in front of the name of your blog post, making it easier for search engines to know exactly what your post is about.
s
Headspace plug-in
Adds Meta description on each & every of your blog post, all these can be done, right inside the admin panel of word press, simple? No need to ftp or look at html code.
Link Structure Modification
This is not a plug-in, it’s a simple hack you can do yourself. Simply change your link structure, so that your link looks like blog.com/post-name, rather than blog.com/p?534. This makes you as a blogger appear more professional to your readers.
Search engines can identify /post-name much easier than /p? 534. Makes sense?
H1 Tags & Category Names
Once again, this is not a plug-in, you need to edit your wordpress stencil in such a way that your blog post title is a H1 tag; this will once another time help search engines know clearly what your blog post is all about. When recognition your category, make sure they are relevant in their keywords; this will make the overall direction-finding of your blog clearer to both visitors & search engines.
