Want to Get a Website to the Top of the Search Engine List?
You have a business and you have a website but so do millions of other writers, real park agents and other professionals. How can you get your website to the top of the search engine list? How can you make sure that when people are surfing the Internet, they find you? It’s not hard, if you go after some simple steps.
(1). Tag your web pages. Title tags are often overlooked; that is, the tag at the top of every web page. A good title with searchable keywords will do more to boost your rank that just about anything.
(2). Pack your pages with searchable content. Most search engines don’t search images. A web page or website that is comprised of mostly graphics and little or no text provides no searchable framework for search engines.
(3). Design your site to be accessible. The most searchable and therefore most marketable websites are accessible. Coding for accessibility means paying more attention to the code behind your website. The end result is a website that performs better in searches.
(4). Scrutinize your content. General language on a website generally leads to poor search results. Specific language leads to better results. Pay attention to your linked phrases. Every element of your web page has value. “Click here” as a link is a wasted link. It’s also not easy to get to. Make your links descriptive and use keywords.
(5). Learn to read and understand your server traffic reports. If a business is not being found by keywords which explain or pertain to it, its website content should be distorted and retested.
